Wide Open Newspapers × Theo Croker

Limited-edition newspaper prints for the Blue Note New York run · Sep 15 + 16 2026 · two sets a night · never reprinted · never discounted
01 — The idea, simply

Two types of products

Two nights at the room that defines the music — 8 full-size spread images across 16 pages, printed on premium paper. Each spread opens to 22×15 inches, so every copy is 8 pull-out art prints fans carry out of the club.

Product A — Open edition

One design for the Blue Note run — this is the edition proposed by email. Sold at both nights, closed forever when the run ends. Batch-printed to demand, so risk stays tiny.

Product B — Limited edition, per night

A unique newspaper for each night — the date, the sets, the writing. Run sized to the room; when a night sells out, that edition is gone forever. Scarcity is real and dated, so it carries a higher price point than a poster.

They combine well: per-night editions at the shows, the open edition online only — the collector object and the accessible one, without either undercutting the other.

02 — Why Wide Open

We handle everything end to end

End-to-end. A photo book with Wiz Khalifa. A limited edition artist newspaper with Nike. Event production with H&M and Highsnobiety. TikTok marketing for Noah Kahan. Creative direction with over 20 artists across genres. We stock our own newspapers through our own global distribution — Magculture, Yvon Lambert, Skylight, Quimby's.

Design, print, logistics, promo, distribution — one team, one pipeline. Full-size newsprint where every spread opens into a wall poster, with real writing on the backs. Your team approves at concept, layout, and final. We run the rest.

03 — The two financial structures

Revenue splits

As proposed by email: you finance at cost, Theo keeps 100% of sales. Or we finance everything and split. Pick the structure first — the products below work under either.

Structure 1 — You finance it

You cover production at cost plus our flat fee, and Theo keeps 100% of sales. At $25–35 a copy, margins run about 60–75 percent — break-even sits under 20 copies.

Structure 2 — We finance it

Wide Open pays for everything — design, print, shipping. Costs recoup off the top, then the net splits 60/40 in the artist's favor. You write no checks and carry zero risk.

Fee$350 flat — covers design, layout, and production management, as quoted. Print runs ~$3–4/copy at small runs; the calculators price the exact volume.

The email example — 50 copies at $30, roughly $975 profit — assumes every copy sells. Drag sell-through to 100% below to reproduce it; the default models a conservative 90%.

Production & next steps

EditorialImagery from your archive under one-time license, commissioned photography, or your creative team. The lineage — Doc Cheatham to now — the band, the writing on the backs. Approval at concept, layout, and final — every page.
The templateOne architecture, an edition per night: masthead, date, city, that show. Designing at show pace is our production system, not an experiment.
LogisticsPrint 5–7 working days per batch; shipped to NYC with customs handled by us. Sold through the venue's existing tables and POS — no staffing burden. Sep 15 is inside the window if we move this week.

Turnaround

Printing and shipping take a week. The only real time variable is design.
